Madeira Bus Map & Network Guide
All 83 bus routes on the SIGA network, organized by area
Madeira's public buses run as one unified network under SIGA, but the official portal publishes per-route timetables rather than a single island-wide map — which makes it hard to see how everything fits together. This page is that overview: every route on the network, grouped by the company and area it serves, each linking to its timetable and stops.
For a zoomable map with every stop located on the island, the free Madeira Bus app includes the complete network map that works offline — no roaming data needed.
Airport express (Aerobus)
500 Aerobus Funchal ↔ Aeroporto The dedicated airport line between Madeira Airport and Funchal — the route most visitors take first.Funchal city & suburbs (63 routes)

West Madeira (9 routes)
Rodoeste lines along the south-west coast — Câmara de Lobos, Ribeira Brava, Ponta do Sol, Calheta — and over to Porto Moniz and the north-west.
East Madeira & north coast (10 routes)
SAM/CAM lines to the east and north-east — Caniço, Machico, Caniçal, Santana and the São Jorge coast.
Most scenic routes (18 routes)
Routes flagged as especially scenic — coastal cliffs, laurel forest and mountain passes. Window seats recommended.
Madeira bus map — common questions
Is there one official printed map of all Madeira bus routes?
The official SIGA portal (siga.madeira.gov.pt) publishes timetables route by route rather than one island-wide network map. This page lists the full network by area, and the free Madeira Bus app includes a complete offline map with every stop.
How do I know which bus company serves my destination?
Broadly: Horários do Funchal (HF) covers Funchal city and its suburbs, Rodoeste covers the west of the island, and SAM/CAM covers the east. Since the SIGA unification you can pay on any of them with the same GIRO card.
Did the route numbers change recently?
Yes — in 2026 SIGA renumbered the network to three-digit route IDs (for example, the old route 20 to Monte is now 020, and old 113 is now 702). All route pages on this site use the new numbers, and links with old numbers redirect automatically.
Can I use the bus map offline?
Yes. The free Madeira Bus app stores the full network map, every stop, and all timetables offline — useful in the mountains and levada valleys where mobile signal drops out.
